Ms. Penfield has been with B&D since 2007 and leads B&D’s K12 and Municipal Development Advisory Services practice group. Her portfolio of project work includes leading the development of over $25 Billion in long term capital programs and master plans across the U.S. with a focus on urban school districts and cities. She regularly advises clients on delivery methods and best practices in portfolio, program, and project management, guiding clients through the capital investment decision making process and solving complex development issues. She is an Accredited Learning Environment Planner and supports B&D’s program management services group with strategic leadership advice related to facility planning and budgeting. In her previous role as Project Manager, she managed over $250 Million in capital projects in the role of project manager, including projects awarded as National Green Ribbon Schools and Construction Management Association (CMAA) projects of the year. Most recently she served as an advisor to Austin Independent School District, leading a year-long effort to update their Facility Master Plan with a focus on reinventing the Austin educational experience and providing a 30 year road map of facility modernization projects. The FMP effort led to a successful $1 Billion bond referendum in 2017. She is active in the development industry attending and presenting at conferences, including the Association for Learning Environments and the DC AIA Committee for Architecture in Education.
