In 2020 when leaders in the city of New London, CT decided it was time to address their community’s lack of recreation spaces, they reached out to B&D. In the years since, under the stewardship of our own Greg Benson, B&D has led the development process for a transformational new community recreation center that aligns with New London’s goals and serves the local population. Recently, city leaders gathered to celebrate the funding of the $40 million facility. You can read an excerpt of the article below, or read the full piece here.

New London leaders gathered Tuesday to celebrate funding for the city’s $40 million community recreation center. The center, which will be built on a parcel on Walbach Street, is expected to bring much-needed resources to the city.

“I envision a space that will change the lives of many for generations to come,” said Felix Reyes, New London’s director of development and planning.

New London has been without a public recreation space for years, according to city leaders. They said that the community center will fulfill a “multi-generational dream.”

"The leadership and information from B&D, and the clarity with which they provide it, brings added credibility to the process and ensures that a range of university stakeholders, including senior leadership and our board, are fully informed for – and confident in – their required decision making.”
